Semaglutide

Semaglutide is a medication that belongs to a class of drugs called GLP-1 receptor agonists. It is used primarily for the management of type 2 diabetes and for chronic weight management. Semaglutide works by mimicking the effects of the GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) hormone, which helps to regulate blood sugar levels and appetite.

How Does Semaglutide Work?

  • Stomach: Delays gastric emptying
  • Brain: Helps regulate appetite and cravings
  • Pancreas: It works by helping the pancreas to release the right amount of insulin when blood sugar levels are high. Insulin helps move sugar from the blood into other body tissues where it is used for energy.
  • Liver: Reduces production of glucose which lowers blood sugar levels. Included is a prescription for a separate B-12 vial. This helps stimulate and increase your metabolism.

How much can I lose?
